Meet our Doctor

Dr. Makris has been a resident of Fishers, IN since 1993 and has raised four daughters who all attended the Hamilton Southeastern school district. Dr. Makris is proud to be a resident of the Fishers community, one of the highest rated cities in the United States. He has watched Fishers grow from a small community into a multi-cultural and diverse city, full of life, and booming with innovation and new business attractions.

Dr. Makris is an ocular surgeon practicing general ophthalmology with a special interest in anterior segment surgery. Dr. Makris received his Bachelor of Science degree from Valparaiso University in northwestern Indiana and his Master of Science degree in biochemistry from Loyola University of Chicago. He completed his medical degree studies at Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI). He served his internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital on the north side of Indianapolis. He then completed his residency in ophthalmology at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Dr. Makris has been a frequent presenter at national and international meetings. He was awarded the Best Paper of Session in the 2001 American Academy of Ophthalmology Meeting.

He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Eye Surgery. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
